Art Bites: Artists Talks with Dexter Davis

AAWR presents, Art Bites: Artists Talk with Dexter Davis.

Join us in the galleries at AAWR for an exploration of the inspirations and methods used by Archived Artist Dexter Davis.

Recently awarded the Lifetime Achievement, Visual Arts Award from the Cleveland Arts Prize Mr. Davis says “For a long time I thought of it as just a hobby, and I thought, if I did go to school for something like art it would be some kind of applied art: illustrations, layouts, industrial design, or something like that. Over the years I kept running away from art but it kept coming back to me. I would go full circle and would come right back to where I started, making art again.” (Dexter Davis, quoted in Henry Adams, “Dexter’s Parents” in Dexter Davis: A Portrait, (Shaker Heights, Ohio: Lawrence Waldman Fine Arts, 2016), 15.)

The presentation will begin promptly at 1:15pm.

Free and Open to the public, but please register via Eventbrite for attendance and planning purposes.

Refreshments will be served.
