Dark Matter  Ceramic Sculpture  10 x 13 x 13″  $850

Meaning presents and warps itself during the process of making,  intuitively changing course as it evolves.  Experience and its personal physical impact, energy in time and space, along with personal body memory fold into the work. The sculpture is a representation of the unseen, a presence of the intangible, an interpretation of energy materialized.

A Sculpture begins with wheel thrown sections of various shapes and sizes, deconstructed, and then reassembled together with slab-built portions.  The process reveals the direction of the piece as the work evolves, intuitively changing course. Meaning presents and warps itself during this process.

I have interest in working out the impact of feeling, experience, and understanding through the material responding to my individuality in the moment. Direction is led only then and there by forming expressions around response to that moment. It is as though the clay leads the way to the discovery of form in a rhythm with the state of personal being in that time.

A representation of self is infused during the length of making. Experience and its personal physical impact, energy in time and space, along with personal body memory fold into the work. The sculpture is a representation of the unseen, a presence of the intangible, an interpretation of energy materialized.
