Having volunteered in Haiti many times over the years, I feel that experiencing life in this unique Caribbean country is like traveling back centuries.  There are little modern conveniences, also limited manufacturing and resources.  Sustenance in the island nation often relies upon scrounging and repurposing.  This includes repurposing lives.
