Displacement  cast bronze and steel sculpture  34 x 27 x 10″  $5200

The piece I am showing is called Displacement. The sculpture is made from found objects, which were directly cast in bronze and then fabricated to form the piece and suspended from a fabricated steel structure.

I hope that the sculpture invites the viewer to ponder the vast displacement of people and wildlife due to manmade forces such as conflict, climate change, and habitat destruction. The people and wildlife depicted in the piece are pretty much out on a limb, a dead end. The orchid blossom could symbolize a ray of hope, since all these negative factors are something that humans have the power to mitigate, or it could send a funereal kind of note, depending on how much faith the viewer has in humans’ ability to come to their collective senses.
