Covid Fears  digital photographic print  20 x 16″  $250 / Second Runner Up Award

The piece Jackie is showing in the show was taken shortly after news of Covid was being released in Ohio. Before face masks were mandatory but constant reminders were being broadcast to make sure you don’t touch your face and to wash your hands. The couple photographed built the odd head gear using old lamp shades and cut a hole that was filled with a clear vinal so they could see out. He explained that this would keep them from touching their faces. Sharing a pair of disposable gloves walking hand in hand in downtown Cleveland at the time seemed like a unique capture. It’s hard to believe now almost a year later how Covid has affected our daily lives, social gatherings and business.
