The Job of Making Others use their Imaginations ceramic sculpture 22 x 11 x 11″ 1150
Ceramics has developed with humanity and carries a catalog of cultural and ethnographic data. This wealth of symbolic and semiotic language fuels my process engaging not just the craft of ceramics but its potential as a tool for cross-cultural dialog.
Artists and craftspeople are filters, that selectively collect and distill ideas, images, and artifacts ultimately producing an output that energizes communities. I am fascinated with phenomenon and the practice of ideation my work pursues established conventions of the ceramic media in an attempt to discover how they attained esteem.
