Biography
Nancy Underhill was born in Chicago, Illinois and attended the University of Kansas and Kalamazoo College where she received her BA. Underhill has had work exhibited throughout the Midwest. Throughout the United States, her work is included in a variety of corporate, public, and private collections. In Cleveland, her work has been seen in the Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland State University, Cleveland Center for Contemporary Art, and The Sculpture Center. She is a member of the Colored Pencil Society of America and has worked for S.M. Hexter Co. and NOVA, both of which are in Cleveland.
Nancy Underhill’s work includes drawings and wall reliefs which embody a bold 3-D quality inspired by architectural forms. In her pieces, the geometric lines of the architectural forms are often accompanied by human, animal and foliage elements. In creating her art she utilizes paint, colored pencil, and graphite.
