Artists : Nancy Underhill Class of 2008

Nancy Underhill was born in Chicago, Illinois and has attended University of Kansas and Kalamazoo College where she received her Bachelor of Arts. Underhill has had work exhibited throughout the Midwest. Specifically in Cleveland, her work has been seen in the Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland State University, Cleveland Center for Contemporary Art, and The Sculpture Center. Throughout the United States, her work is also included in a variety of corporate, public, and private collections. She is a member of the Colored Pencil Society of America and has worked for S.M. Hexter Co. and NOVA, both of which are in Cleveland. Nancy Underhill's work includes drawings and wall reliefs, which embody a bold 3-D quality inspired by architectural forms. The geometric lines of the architectural forms are often accompanied by human, animal and foliage elements in her pieces. In creating her art she includes paint, colored pencil, and graphite.

Our programming is made possible with the support of the Davis Art Foundation, the Ohio Arts Council, the John P. Murphy Foundation, the Kelvin and Eleanor Smith Foundation, the George Gund Foundation, Cuyahoga Arts and Culture, and the Chrysler Foundation.
